CompuCycle will be coming by one last time before the end of the year. If you would like to have your electronics recycled, bring them to room S201 (Ms. Vincent) by early Monday morning.
Pre-participation physical exams for student athletes are 6-8 p.m. Monday, May 14 at St. Agnes in the new gym. Cost is $20; for information please contact Angela Byrd with Methodist Orthopaedic Specialists of Texas.
Fall musical auditions are 2 p.m. Friday, May 25, in the SAA Auditorium. Vote for Me: A Musical Debate will have the candidates dancing and singing their way through the three-ring circus of American politics. It is a hilarious spoof of the electoral process where every political party and stereotype is turned on its head, and no one is spared! Requirements: 32 bars of any musical theater piece (contemporary preferred, upbeat, and with character). A reading from the show is available outside Mr. Wood's office.
Sign up now for the January 2013 trip to Washington, DC to see the inauguration up-close. Students will attend seminars with Washington policy-makers, visit elected officials, and see first-hand the process of democracy and our nation's heritage. Date: Thursday, Jan 17 - Wednesday, Jan 22, 2013; Cost: $2,512.00 - Covers all educational activities, instructors and support staff, lodging, meals, planned sight-seeing, entertainment, Close-Up Inaugural Ball, around the clock supervision, and emergency care services (if needed) - everything but souvenirs! Basketball Camps: 1-4 p.m. June 11-13 (comprehensive camp) and 1-4 p.m. June 14-15 (shooting and position camp) in the SAA gym. Registration deadline is May 25. Contact Jeff Hollinger.
Soccer Camp: 9-11 a.m. at the Athletics Complex at 7611 Bellaire Blvd. Dates: July 9-13 for 10th - 12th grades; July 16-20 for 7th-9th grades. Registration deadline is June 15. Contact Rebecca Brady.
Counselors' Corner
Parents of college-bound student athletes - If your daughter is a junior student athlete and hopes to participate in athletics in college (Division I or II), she must complete certain steps by the end of this year to ensure she is adhering to NCAA eligibility protocol. Click here for details.
As May finals are quickly approaching (May 21- 24), it is important for students to know how to reduce stress and increase memory and recall of information. Review these tips with your daughter to help her do her best.
Fast Start, a new program designed to help seniors with the transition to college, will hold seminars in Houston in early August and one-on-one coaching throughout the summer. The program equips students with a broad base of practical skills and advice in topics ranging from customized study systems, strategic class scheduling, short vs. long term goals, health, to finance 101. The Dads' Club will serve as ushers for the graduation ceremonies at 3:30 p.m. May 19, at the Catholic Charismatic Center, 1949 Cullen Boulevard. If you are interested in serving, please contact Cris Reyes.

Mothers' Club
The end of the year is fast approaching: as we have done in the past, we will provide snacks for the girls during finals week. Donations of healthy snacks and water can be dropped off with Linda Rocamontes in the Advancement Office. If you can help please contact Rose Lindsey.
