Revolving around Truvy's Beauty Parlor in a small parish in 1980's Southern Louisiana, STEEL MAGNOLIAS is the story of a close-knit circle of eccentric friends whose lives come together there through humor, tears, joy, and life's lessons.

This Tony-award winning play was made into an award-winning movie in 1989 with an all-star cast of six principal female characters played by Dolly Parton, Sally Field (nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Dramatic Actress Performance), Olympia Dukakis, Daryl Hannah, Shirley MacLaine, and Julia Roberts (who won the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress).
