The SAA Dads' Club and Steps for Students 5K Committee thank all volunteers, participants, sponsors and registrants who supported the 7th Annual Steps for Students. Although the race was cancelled due to hazardous weather conditions, the fees and pledges received will be distributed to the designated schools. As all permitting, sanctioning and city approval were date specific, the race will not be rescheduled. Many thanks for your understanding and indomitable STEPS spirit!
Please mark your calendars for 8 a.m.-noon Saturday, March 3 at the West Houston Assistance Ministry (WHAM) for our Spring Father/Daughter Service Day. Last year we helped with their Second Blessing resale store by cleaning the sales floor, processing incoming materials, and sorting and cleaning the processing area. It was a great opportunity for the girls to mix with their guests, work together, and have some fun at the same time. A big shout-out to Mike Simon who will once again be providing breakfast to the volunteers courtesy of Shipley Do-Nuts. After the event there will be a Dutch treat lunch for those who are interested. To find out more, sign up, or to volunteer please contact Joe Berno.
Our next Dads' Club meeting will be 6 p.m. Monday, March 5 in the SAA cafeteria.
The 2012 SAA Gala "La Bella Notte" is on March 24. The Dads' Club routinely helps with logistics on this event. To volunteer or for more information, please contact Cris Reyes.
