Being in the St. Agnes Academy Athletics program will be one of the most rewarding experiences of a student's time at SAA. We offer 12 sports during 3 seasons and have over 400 students involved in sports. We have won more than 80 state titles and compete with the top schools in the state of Texas. Welcome, to TIGER ATHLETICS!!

St. Agnes Academy is affiliated with Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS). TAPPS offers a district schedule with a play-off format similar in nature to UIL public school institutions. State Championships are acknowledged in a myriad of sports including Cross Country, Volleyball, Basketball, Soccer, Swimming, Golf, Tennis, Track & Field, and Softball.

Water Polo, Lacrosse, and Field Hockey are run by independent organizations, and compete towards state play-off competition within those organizations. Junior Varsity and Varsity teams are fielded in all sports. Volleyball and Basketball also offer a third freshman-only team. An Athletic Fee is required per athletic participant per sport at St. Agnes. We are very proud of our student-athletes who successfully combine the challenges of athletics and academia with equal enthusiasm and success.

Practices/Off-Season
All sports conduct practices and/or competitions up to 6 days a week during their season. This generally cnstitutes three practices per week along with two competitions, or, as in track and cross country, practice is held throughout the week with competitions on Saturdays. Practices are primarily after school, and most are one and one half to two hours in length. Without an athletic period, our athletes are expected to attend off-season work-outs before and after the regular season as scheduled by the head coaches.

The Water Polo and Swim teams train at the Strake Jesuit pool. Golf and Tennis teams train at various off campus sites. Our home golf course is Braeburn Country Club and the Tennis team works out at Lee LeClear Tennis Center. The Cross Country team trains on campus, as well as Memorial Park, Storey Park, and other running venues. All other sports practice on campus, at our new Athletic Complex, or in conjunction with Strake Jesuit facilities. Coaches transport team members to and from practice and competition sites as necessary.

If you have a previous commitment that will not allow you to be in attendance for tryouts, you MUST contact the head coach of that sport by email and provide reasons.
