Student Council
Mission Statement The primary purpose of Student Council is to provide leadership for the student body and to contribute to the spirit and mission of the school. The Council acts as a voice for the student body to the faculty and administration, represents the interests and needs of the students, and takes action to serve the school and wider community. Council members are expected to be role models for other students, to promote religious values, scholarship, citizenship, and leadership. Student Council is integral to the successful operation of the school.
Student Council consists of elected members and delegates from each class that work together as leaders to oganize pivotal events within the school and surrounding community. The goals of student council are to promote unity and spirit within the school and to act as a liaison between the student body and the faculty. Elections are every April, with 9th grade elections in October. The St. Agnes Academy Student Council operates under the Texas Association of Student Councils (TASC). St. Agnes belongs to District 13 in TASC. All members of the SAA Student Council are divided into four committees: the Drug and Alcohol Committee, the Safety and Health Committee, the Pride and Patriotism Committee, and the Energy and Environment Committee. These committees develop projects and campaigns throughout the year to raise awareness of issues in our school community.
