The purpose of the Model U.N. program is to foster a greater understanding of world problems and international relations through student role-playing in a simulation of the United Nations. The St. Agnes organization is part of H.A.M.U.N (Houston Area Model United Nations). Students research resolutions, attend workshops, and participate in a two-day conference in the spring at the George R. Brown Convention Center. Attendance at club meetings is highly recommended; meetings are rare and are usually brief. Students will represent different countries as delegates on a specific committee. As a delegate, a student is required to do Policy Papers on her committee's topics: this will prepare the student for the Conference. Most communication is handled via email. Membership is open to sophomores, juniors and seniors.
