Every month throughout the year, the Green Club seeks to raise awareness about various environmental matters. Members work with the SAA Student Council's Energy & Environment Committee, the SAA Board of Directors' Building & Grounds Committee, and other school groups and community agencies to provide students with service opportunities, like recycling paper, plastic, electronics, and batteries, becoming more energy efficient in school and at home, planting trees, and conserving resources. Earth Week activities involve distinguished guest speakers, debates and public forums, sustainability workshops, carbon foot-printing, incandescent-CFL light bulb exchanges, living bouquets, "seedling" fundraisers, t-shirt and other design-for-the-environment contests and artistic displays, tie-dying of old clothes, organic cakewalks and bake-sales, free-dress passes, and many other fun-filled and eco-educational events. So get involved! Join the Green Club today!
