How does an on-campus buyback work? Follett Virtual Bookstores will set up at a designated location on campus where students can bring their used textbooks. We will scan each student's textbooks, determine the total payout for the books being sold, print out a receipt and issue a check. |
How are students paid for their books? Students selling back their textbooks provide their contact information and receive a receipt at the Buyback event. Follett will process and mail a check four weeks after the event. |
Do books have to be in good condition to be bought back? Yes. Only textbooks that are in good, resalable condition will be bought back. We will not buy textbooks that have excessive highlighting/markings, water damage, torn/ripped covers, missing pages, or broken bindings. |
What books will Follett be buying back? We guarantee to buy textbooks that your school plans on using in the 2010-2011 school year. If the inventory is needed, we may purchase textbooks that will be used by other schools in our program. We will not buy novels, workbooks, lab manuals or other books students typically write in for classes. |
How much can students expect to receive for their books? Students can expect to receive anywhere from 10% - 40% of the new textbook price. These percentages are based primarily upon the condition, adoption status and total demand for the book. |
