Support our mission: The Gifts of Learning Breakfast (7:30 a.m.-8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15 at the Junior League of Houston, 1811 Briar Oaks Lane) is the kick-off event for the Learning Today, Leading Tomorrow Annual Fund and is a great opportunity to learn more about St. Agnes. Head to SAA for "Good Girl:" St. Agnes Academy welcomes Rachel Simmons on her book tour for "The Curse of the Good Girl" 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30 in the SAA Auditorium. This fun back-to-school presentation centers on confident self-expression for young women. Please join us for a Q&A with this best-selling author and book signing. This event is sponsored by Blue Willow Bookshop and is $15 for parent-daughter pairs (and includes a paperback copy of the book). Tee off with the Tigers!: Registration is now open online for our 2010 event - Monday, Nov. 8. The 27th Annual St. Agnes Academy Golf Tournament is being held for the first time at the beautiful Redstone Golf Club (Member Course). Shotgun start at 12:30 p.m. with lunch provided and fun for all. After golf, dinner and awards will be handed out, so get this down on your calendar now! Sponsorship opportunities are available. Counselors' Corner
Senior Parent Information Night: Senior Parent Information Night is 6:30 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 7) in the Strake Family Cafeteria at St. Agnes Academy. We encourage all senior parents to attend to learn more about the college application process as it pertains to our seniors. The college counselors look forward to meeting you and answering all of your questions about college admissions. Head of School Sr. Jane Meyer, O.P. also will be speaking about the events that make the senior year so special at St. Agnes. The evening presentation will begin promptly at 6:30 p.m. We look forward to seeing you!
Financial Aid for College: In the last few years, we have seen rising costs in tuition and fees at many colleges and universities. The fear of one's dream school being out of reach due to cost is quite real and, in many cases, dictates how a student and her family go about navigating the college process. Booster Club
Please join us Tuesday (Sept. 8) for a light meal and social time at 6:15 p.m. in the Choral Room. Our business meeting will start at 6:30 p.m.. Representatives from all sports are encouraged to attend all the meetings, as decisions that affect everyone are made throughout the year. We are currently in need of a golf and a track representative. I look forward to seeing everyone at the meeting!

Mothers' Club
The Mothers' Club wishes to thank Kristin Palmer and Susan Williams for the tasty refreshments offered during Follow Your Daughter's Schedule night this week. We're sure the treats were enjoyed by parents during a fast-paced evening!
Next week is Welcome (Fish) Week! Senior girls will have all kinds of surprises and treats waiting for their "fish." Thursday (Sept. 9), lunch is provided for the senior and ninth-grade students. We need about 10 moms to provide two-dozen cookies for lunch. If you like to bake, contact Ann Laws.
The Senior Class will be hosting the first Faculty/Staff Appreciation Luncheon on Wednesday, Sept. 22. If you are a senior parent and would like to participate by making a donation to help offset the cost, please contact Alice Rohrman.
Mark your calendars for the first Mothers' Club meeting at noon Wednesday (Sept. 8). We will meet in the Fleming Room (in the Center for Sciences and Student Services building) and enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by Hospitality Chair Laura Musemeche and her team of volunteers. We are pleased to have Julie McDonald '67 as our guest. She will introduce us to the Charity Guild of Catholic Women. Our meetings are a great opportunity to catch up with friends, meet new friends and stay up to date with what's happening at SAA! See you there!

Dads' Club
The Dads' Club hopes the new year will begin smoothly and we are here to help make it that way. Please attend the first Dads' Club meeting of 2010-2011 school year on Monday, Sept. 13 at 6 p.m. in the SAA Strake Family Cafeteria. We meet to help the school! See you then!
