Letter from the Alumnae Board Chair: I am honored and excited to lead the Alumnae Association Board for 2010-2011. We are very fortunate to have such talented and diverse board members who will serve this year. As our first activity, each board committee chair established goals to guide and direct us through the year:
Increase awareness of the Alumnae Association among fellow alumnae and current students
Incorporate new events that appeal to alumnae of all ages
Reenergize the Class Agent Program
Increase alumnae giving to the
Learning Today, Leading Tomorrow Annual Fund (annual giving from alumnae doubled last year!)
I hope that all alumnae will reach out and participate in the many activities the board will be sponsoring this year. Connecting with former classmates and also making new friends with alumnae is very rewarding. The board welcomes your suggestions and feedback to the activities we are sponsoring. As the daughter of a St. Agnes alumna, a graduate myself, and the mother of a St Agnes alumna (also the aunt of three alumnae), I know how blessed we are to have attended such a phenomenal school. I look forward to seeing you at our events! Come "home" to St. Agnes and enjoy the fellowship of some very special Academy Women!
Regards,
Rosalie Montalbano Brandino '64

Students and parents were treated to a morning of reflection on the St. Agnes experience, as well as the unique bond mother-and-daughter alumnae share as Academy women.
Director of Advancement Elaine Henderson Eichelberger '79 shared her own personal story of how St. Agnes changed both her life and transformed her daughter, Caroline Duble '10. "It is a very special relationship between a mother and a daughter," Director of Advancement Elaine Henderson Eichelberger '79 said during the program. "However, the gift and tradition of a SAA education is one thing that will bond you forever, and we celebrate this morning your decision to pass on that tradition to your daughter."St. Agnes is honored that our alumnae continue to share the legacy of a Dominican education with their children - now and in coming generations.
Join St. Agnes Academy for Breakfast: Last year, St. Agnes Academy alumnae showed their passionate support for the value of a Dominican education through the
Learning Today, Leading Tomorrow Annual Fund. Join us this year as we celebrate the Academy's success and showcase our outstanding students at the Gifts of Learning Breakfast 7:30 a.m.-8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 15 at the Junior League of Houston (1811 Briar Oaks Lane, Houston). This event also is an opportunity to learn more about St. Agnes and the annual fund. To RSVP, please contact Anne Liddle at

Did you know? Fun fact about your alma mater
The American Flag pole at St. Agnes Academy originated at the school's original campus on Fannin Street. In 1999, with help from alumnae parents, Tom Standish and Mike and Jean Phillips, as well as assistance from Reliant Energy, the flag pole was moved to its present location. Beverly Massey Woolley '57, member of the Texas House of Representatives, helped dedicate the flagpole on Nov. 11, 1999.
