News and Media
(April 15th) Congratulations to the team for qualifying several members for the TAPPS state tournament. Lauren Fields made it to the quarter finals in singles. The doubles teams of Mims Axelsen and Maddy Bowen along with Chelsea Heckler and Gabby Nazario also qualified! Mims and Bowen took the more conventional route and played through the winners bracket and made it all the way to the quarter finals before going down in defeat. Heckler and Nazario had to fight through the consolation bracket but defeated all opponents to claim another spot on the state team. The state tournament will be April 24th and 25th in Waco.
(Feb. 26) Congratulations to Ninth Graders Beatrice Herrmann and Sylvia Liaw for their achievements at the Fort Bend Freshman Tournament. Beatrice won her first match keeping her in the winner's bracket and played a two-and-a-half hour second match, the longest match so far this season and likely in recent SAA history. Sylvia lost her first match putting her into the consolation bracket where she earned the consolation-championship title.
(Feb. 25) St. Agnes Academy tennis is now two wins and one loss on the season. Winning their matches on Tuesday, Feb. 24 were Lizzie Gollin, Lauren Fields, Chelsea Hacker and Sarah Marcum, Gabby Nazario and Maddy Bowen, Sylvia Liaw and Kelsey Caine, Kate Kanaby and Joanna Jao, Jennifer Nolasco and Kim Groneck, Cristina Perez and Blessie Valdez, Jennifer Smith and Kim Groneck, and Paola Raull and Cammi Crawford.
(Feb. 18) The St. Agnes Academy tennis team claimed victory of Duchesne Academy on Feb. 18.
