Commitment to the community outside of St. Agnes Academy is vital to our students. Every student is required to do 100 hours of community service between her Junior and Senior year. These hours must address a social justice issue and they must involve interaction with the people they serve. We have had students do their service projects all over the United States and in such countries as Mexico, Paraguay, Costa Rica, China and Nicaragua.
In addition to the senior service project, each year our entire school participates in Service Day. Our students, faculty and staff go out into the community to serve at over 40 different local agencies such as: shelters, nursing homes, food pantries, and schools. Furthermore, our students are involved on a regular basis with Habitat for Humanity, Race for the Cure, Star of Hope Mission and countless other organizations around Houston. |
