9th grade (1 day at school and 1 day at St. Cyril of Alexandria Church in Houston) - This retreat focuses
on the Dominican Pillar of Community. Emphasis is placed on examining our relationships with God, family, friends
and neighbors. Students develop bonds with their classmates and learn what it means to be a part of the SAA family.
10th grade(1 day at Epiphany of the Lord Church in Katy) - This retreat focuses on the Dominican Pillar
of Prayer. Students have opportunities to learn about and practice different methods of prayer. Emphasis is placed
on prayer as an on-going conversation with God.
11th grade(3 days, 2 nights at Forest Glen Christian Camp in Huntsville) - This overnight retreat focuses
on the Dominican Pillar of Study. Although the theme of the retreat varies each year depending on the needs and
gifts offered by the Campus Ministry Team, there is a common idea that surfaces, which is our ultimate need for
God’s mercy and forgiveness in our lives. Students discover (again) that God lives with and within us even when
we fail to recognize that reality. On this retreat, it is hoped that students come face to face with their God
who continually sustains them through all of life’s ups and downs.
12th grade(3 days, 2 nights at Forest Glen Christian Camp in Huntsville) - This final retreat focuses
on the Dominican Pillar of Preaching. Students have one last chance to bond with their classmates before moving
onto the next step of their lives. Emphasis is put on examining how each student will continue to preach the Gospel
with their words and their lives as they go forth into the world.
