College Admissions

Welcome to the College Information section of our website. This particular section is devoted to providing our students and their parents with relevant information as it pertains to college.

Newsletter - College Connection is a our newsletter aimed at answering questions related to the college admissions process.

Timeline - The Admissions Timeline is a breakdown of the steps you and your daughter can take each year to maximize your understanding and her preparedness, respectively, for the college application process. By being proactive from the get-go, it is our hope that your daughter will be able to approach her college process with confidence and ease when the time comes.

Library Resources will show you what is in our library for the students to use. Books are still and always will be a valuable tool in gathering information about colleges and universities. We have wonderful software available to our students and we also provide you with a link to the internet in Library Resources.

College Admission References provide you with a list of books which we have found to be a necessary part of our college admission library in the counselors' office. These books can be checked out by our students and many can be purchased at your local bookstore.

College Testing will help you plan for tests such as SAT I, SAT SUBJECT TESTS and ACT. Registration deadlines and actual test dates are listed. We have also included information about THEA and a link for AP credit and placement policies for many colleges and universities.

SAA College Visits includes a calendar identifying college admission representatives from across the country that visit our campus to meet with our juniors and seniors throughout the fall semester. Students are encouraged to visit with the reps to gain valuable information about their institutions.

Evening Presentations - The Counseling Department wants to keep you informed of all the information sessions held by various colleges and universities in the Houston area. This page will be updated periodically to reflect information received by our department.

Scholarships and Financial Aid - General scholarship and financial aid information bulletins will be posted approximately 3-4 times a year by Katy Watts, Associate Director of College Counseling. To find active scholarships (need/merit based) students will need to log into Naviance.

Naviance is a comprehensive web-based system that provides information about colleges and helps students navigate throught the admissions process.

Transcipt Status gives the directions for checking the status of your teacher letters of recommendation and transcript requests.
