Continuing the Dominican tradition and providing for the future of St. Agnes
untitled 1906 Society

As an alumna, parent or friend of St. Agnes Academy, you can leave a lasting gift to protect and continue the school’s strong Dominican mission of excellence and tradition. A bequest made to St. Agnes ensures that the legacy of a diverse and challenging college-preparatory education, imbued with the tenets of the Catholic faith, remains for future generations. A bequest to St. Agnes also may provide your estate with a charitable deduction while allowing your control of assets (or the income from them) during your lifetime.

There are many ways to make your bequest to the Academy:

  • Residuary bequests leave either the whole or portion of your estate to St. Agnes after all other specific bequests and obligations have been paid.
  • Specific bequests simply leave a specific asset(s), amount of money or item(s) to the Academy.
  • Contingent bequests leave a sum to St. Agnes only if a specific person does not survive you or some other condition has been present.

You can also use retirement plans, such as a 401(k), 403(b) or IRA to make your bequest by naming the Academy as the beneficiary.
Additional ways to provide for St. Agnes’ future:

  • Charitable gift annuities
  • Deferred payment charitable gift annuities
  • Pooled income funds
  • Charitable remainder trusts or lead trusts

The 1906 Society

The St. Agnes Academy 1906 Society is a group of individuals who have included St. Agnes in their future plans via a planned gift or bequest intention. Individuals or foundations are eligible for membership in The 1906 Society if they have made St. Agnes Academy a beneficiary in their will, retirement plan, IRA or life insurance policy, or if a planned gift was established to benefit the Academy.

Members of The 1906 Society will be honored each year at the Guardian of Youth Award and Veritas Society Appreciation Dinner scheduled each fall. Throughout the year, members receive special invitations to attend school events and receive Academy publications, including our annual report.

If you qualify for membership, but are not yet listed as a member on our records, please let us know! To learn more about creating a planned gift to help continue St. Agnes Academy’s legacy of excellence for future generations, please contact Elaine Henderson Eichelberger ’79, Director of Advancement, at (713) 219-5405 or via e-mail at eeichelberger@st-agnes.org.
