In our effort to provide our parents, vendors and community organizations with reliable information regarding school closures due to weather, human-made disasters or natural disasters, St. Agnes Academy follows Houston Independent School District recommendations. If HISD is closed we will also be closed.  There are several locations where you can find St. Agnes school-closing information. 1. Go to the main page of our Web site 2. Go to Channel 11 or Channel 2's Web site, click on the school closings link If we should have to close because of an emergency, we will list the closing immediately on the Web sites above.  In most cases, St. Agnes will also notify parents by e-mail. Make sure to log on to AcademyConnection and verify your e-mail address in your profile. From the September 11 issue of Tiger Tracks... SAA Parents: Please note that St. Agnes Academy is closed tommorow, Friday, Sept. 12, so that members of our community can prepare for the arrival of Hurricane Ike. Continue to watch and listen to your local TV and radio news for information regarding potential school closures next week. Please remember that St. Agnes follows the Houston Independent School District (HISD) policy on school closings. If HISD schools are closed, St. Agnes will be closed, as well, unless you are notified otherwise. We are preparing for possible power outages due to the coming storm. With that, our online services (OSP, AcademyConnection and NetView, as well as e-mail functionality) will most likely be down for some time period. We will do our best to get back online quickly. Please note that ALL weekend activities are canceled, including the Choir Retreat, sports activities, and Princeton Review. You will be notified about rescheduled events soon. God bless you and please be safe in coming days.  September 14 ALL CLASSES AND ACTIVITIES CANCELLED Monday through Friday. The school and grounds incurred minimal damage with some downed trees. Because Ike has affected the SAA community in varying degrees, the school will close for the week to allow everyone to focus on their personal needs. Wednesday's Gifts of Learning Breakfast is cancelled. September 18 As of Thursday 9/18, St. Agnes does not have electrical power. We plan to be open for business as usual on Monday morning, September 22. The decision to cancel Monday's classes will be made by Sunday afternoon and posted on our website along with listings on local television. September 20 Electical power was restored to the school on Saturday, 9/20.  Classes will resume on Monday morning, September 22.
