Mass on Tuesdays in the Chapel
Please join us every Tuesday for Mass in the Chapel during lunch (11:35 a.m.)

Phonathon volunteers needed
Sign up for the Learning Today, Leading Tomorrow Annual Fund phon-a-thon for a fun-a-thon!  You can participate in two ways - one way is to help out and volunteer for one or more of our annual giving evening phone-a-thons. These evenings last three hours - volunteers meet other volunteer parents, have dinner, and reach out to make sure everyone has received their letters from Sr. Jane Meyer, O.P. to ensure participation in our annual giving campaign. The dates are: 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16; 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17; and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2 and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3. The second way we ask parents to help is to remember that volunteer parents, parents just like you, will be making these phone calls on behalf of St. Agnes and Sr. Jane to help our school and your daughters. Current parent George Crawford is leading the way with this year's Annual Fund as chair. Please come and be a part of it - contact Sophia Furnace '78 at sfurnace@st-agnes.org or 713.219.5402.

Let's support SAA Water Polo!
Come out and support the St. Agnes Water Polo team as they continue to seek victory in the Jesuit Invitational on the Strake Jesuit campus this weekend. First Varisty game is at 10:30 a.m. Saturday with additional games to follow. Go Tigers!

Annual Fund kicks off at Gifts of Learning Breakfast
The summer has flown by and, believe it or not, the fall is upon us. This year will be full of exciting changes, especially with the new building. Let’s pump that excitement into the Gifts of Learning Breakfast kicking off the 2007-2008 Learning Today, Leading Tomorrow Annual Fund at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 19 at the Junior League. Please contact Sophia Furnace '78, Director of Annual Giving, at sfurnace@st-agnes.org if you will be attending. Please call Sophia with questions. See you then!

MORNING AND AFTERNOON TRAFFIC FLOW INFORMATION
• Student drop-off and pickup is at the following three locations:
o In front of the new Center for the Sciences and Student services
o In front of the Administration entrance
o In front of the Auditorium entrance on the east side of campus.
• Use the curb side as the drop off and pick up lane.  The center lane in front of the Science and Student services and the Administration entrance and the right lane at the Auditorium entrance are pass lanes only allowing parents to continue without delay once they have picked up their student.
• Please arrive no earlier than 3:15 p.m. to pick up your student.  The school ends at 3:05 p.m. and most students need a few minutes to navigate our halls, go to their locker, and visit with friends before meeting you at either the Administration or Auditorium entrance. The police officers will not allow the pick-up line to back up to Bellaire in the afternoon.
• The front parking lots, the back parking lots and the west side of campus are not a student pickup or drop off location as this will back traffic up on our campus significantly. The front parking lots will be closed to afternoon traffic.
• Traffic is one way only around the building with the entrance on the east side of campus and the exit on the west side of campus.
• Please pay attention to the campus speed limit of 10 MPH.
• Please do not block campus drive ways.

VISITOR PARKING & INFORMATION
• Visitor parking is on the west side of campus in front of the Administration entrance.
• Please follow the signs to the designated visitor parking spots.
• Please do not park in any other spot.  All other parking spots are numbered and are assigned to students, faculty and staff.
• All Visitors must sign in with the Receptionist at the Administration Building.

Theatre department needs cots, volunteers
The SAA theatre department. is looking for loaner sleeping cots or twin-size mattresses to use for their upcoming play, "The Diary of Anne Frank." If anyone has camping equipment sitting in their garage or mattresses they can temporarily loan out, we would be much obliged! Please contact Director Felicia Miller (fmiller@st-agnes.org  / 713-219-5467) if able to help. We're also still on the lookout for parent volunteers for the Drama Mamas Committee (Dads welcome, too!).

St. Agnes & Title V
St. Agnes Academy is fortunate to participate in the federally funded Title V program.  This program provides the school with additional funds to purchase equipment and materials each year.  Traditionally these funds have been given to the library to purchase books and/or equipment.  The 2006/2007 funds were used to purchase additional digital cameras, camcorders, camera cases, memory cards and batteries (for the cameras) and desktop speakers for classrooms.  Though these materials are primarily housed in the library, they are available for classroom use by all faculty and students. We welcome suggestions from faculty, students, and parents on any materials you would like to see the library purchase with future funds.  Contact: Herman Sutter, Library Director, at hsutter@st-agnes.org

MOTHERS’ CLUB KICKS OFF YEAR WITH WELCOME COFFEE
An exciting year with activities and events is planned!

I would like to welcome you to the 2007 - 2008 school year at St. Agnes and invite you become an active member of the St. Agnes Mothers’ Club. There are many different ways for you to become involved in your daughter’s high school experience. The Mothers’ Club plays an active role in the various activities throughout the school year. All moms are invited to the monthly meetings held in the Mothers’ Club Room in the Strake Family Cafeteria.  Meetings start at 11:30 a.m. and begin with lunch and social time. The business meeting convenes at noon and lasts approximately one hour.  These meetings will provide you with information about the many different events taking place at the school. Come join us. Get involved. Meet new friends!

The plans for many of the activities are in full swing. Mark your calendar for Follow Your Daughter’s Schedule on September 5, and be sure to enjoy some refreshments provided by the Mothers’ Club between your classes. Moms are already getting organized to serve the girls during Big Sister / Little Sister Week.the first week in September, while chaperones are looking forward to attending the orientation dance on September 8.  Shortly after these events is the St. Agnes famous Garage Sale to be held on Saturday, October 6.
