Parent Teacher Conference Sign-up
St. Agnes Academy is unveiling a new online program for signing up for the February 13 Parent Teacher Conferences. This new program should make the process more convenient for everyone.  See next week’s Tiger Tracks for more details!

Turn in those Raffle Tickets!
Only two collections left until the Raffle Holiday on February 15! Each student must turn in $130 worth of ticket sales by Feb. 12 to earn the holiday! Don’t wait until the last collection day! Students and parents can check their progress by going to the SAA Web site and clicking on "Check Status" under the Raffle tab. Our goal this year $160,000  and once 40% of sales as a grade is achieved, your class will have free dress every Friday during the raffle period, so hurry up and turn those tickets in!

IMPORTANT NEWS FROM THE SAA BOOSTER CLUB
The Booster Club is pleased to announce new times and more chances for all members of the St. Agnes community to purchase your much needed and in-demand sweatshirts, uniform attire, coffee mugs, water bottles, polo shirts and all other items supporting St. Agnes Academy.  Starting Tuesday February 5, 2008, the concession stand will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for the students and SAA community to come browse and buy whatever merchandise and items you need.  The concession stand will be open EVERY week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 11:00 am to 1:00 p.m.  You will also be able to order any items you desire from our new internet store. Attention Sophomores, Juniors, and your families!
Please join us for the annual St. Agnes/Strake Jesuit College Information Night on Tuesday, February 5 from 7-9 p.m..  This is your chance to learn about the college admission and application process from experts in the field.  Representatives from Rice University, Southwestern University, Texas A&M, University of Texas at Austin, Texas Tech University, Trinity University, and University of Houston Honors College will be discussing a variety of topics related to admissions, programs of study, and financial aid. We will also have four student representatives from the senior class who will discuss their experience with the application process and answer any questions you may have about the college search/application process. Our program begins at 7 p.m. in the St. Agnes Auditorium. We look forward to seeing you there!

Course Selections for 9th, 10th and 11th graders
All students will be making course selections the week of February 11 for next year.  We will spend time on Friday, February 1st with "ninth graders" in their P. E. classes where they will do a tentative Four Year Plan.  This will give them a comprehensive overview of their academic program.  Because this is a college prep curriculum there are not a lot of elective choices for the 10th grade year.  We highly recommend that they choose physical education or fitness for the 10th grade because it provides a nice balance to an academically focused day.  We encourage all students to choose their courses wisely and judiciously.a college preparatory curriculum demands time and focus.  We recommend that all students consider an open lab where this is possible. For students who are athletes an open lab can make a difference in a hectic day. We strongly advise an open lab the semester corresponding with the sport.  Students are encouraged to see us if they have any questions.  Currently and continuing through late spring we will be meeting with students in advisory sessions to review their curriculum and course selections.  We will make necessary changes through the end of the school year, but changes will not be made in the fall.

A very special thank you to Ann Laws for planning and executing the fabulous International Food Festival that was held this past Thursday.  What an event!.  Thank you to her team of volunteers for all the manpower needed to put this special day together.
