Matball Team Tournament at SAA this weekend!
St. Agnes Academy, along with the Girls of the Lake Matball Team, will be hosting  the 2nd annual Matball Tournament to raise money for Save Darfur. Due to the recent events in Myanmar, we have decided to contribute half of the funds we raise to helping rebuild their country. There have been a reported 1 million people who are now homeless, the death toll has now exceeded 22,000 people and 41,000 are reported missing after the catastrophic cyclone that battered the country. All of our funds will go to the appropriate organizations where the funds will most directly help the people of Myanmar and Darfur.

Junior organizes sports equipment drive next week
Christina Bennett, a St. Agnes Academy junior, is working on her Girl Scout Gold Award project with Catholic Charities at two homes for girls ages nine to 17. Each home hosts about 15 girls who are from various central American countries and have become separated from their families. Her project involves leading a two-hour sports camp at each of the homes every Saturday this summer to promote fitness and healthy lifestyles. An important side benefit is helping the girls develop their English speaking skills. Christina is organizing a collection drive next week - Monday, May 12 to Friday, May 16 - for gently used sports equipment for the camps. Please consider donating any items you think would be useful, such as softball, soccer, tennis, and basketball equipment, Frisbees, jump ropes, playground balls, etc. Christina will have volunteers to collect donations at the carpool lines each morning and drop boxes will be available in the SAA Strake Family Cafeteria. Thanks for your support!

Acting Recital moved to May 22
Ms. Miller's Acting Class Recital has been moved to Thursday, May 22 at 6:30 p.m. in the Auditorium. Students from both Intro to Acting class and Advanced Acting class will perform dialogue scenes and a one act play from this semester for family and friends. Admission is FREE! Please join us!

APRON REMINDER! Please pick up your Mother's Club Apon! If you purchased a personalized apron this year please pick up your apron in the front office in the Apron Box. They will still be available there until May 30 when they will be placed in the Mothers' Club closet for the summer. Enjoy your apron when volunteering at SAA or for home or holiday cooking. Madonna Day - Legacy Photos
On Madonna Day, we honor all of our graduates, but we also like to acknowledge those students who are part of St. Agnes legacy families. If a senior's mother, grandmother, sister, or other family member also attended St. Agnes and they are at Madonna Day, please let them know that we are staging a group photo following the ceremony. Sr. Jane will announce that alumnae and their related graduates need to stay in the Auditorium to take a picture on stage. It will take a moment and the memory will last a lifetime. So, please let moms, grandmas, and sisters know to be ready for a group picture. At the reception Megan Clark also will be taking individual family pictures for the Veritas magazine in the Prayer Garden (outside the Strake Family Cafeteria). Ushers needed for Graduation 2008
Graduation will soon be here on Saturday, May 24 at 4:30 p.m. in the Catholic Charismatic Center and we need St. Agnes Academy dads to serve as ushers. If you are a 9th,10th, or 11th grade dad, please consider helping SAA out! It's a great way to see what this special day is all about.
