DIVERSITY WEEK - NEXT WEEK!
Please, remember that next week is our Diversity Week, which is coordinated with Catholic Schools Week. We especially invite you to bring food and help us with serving it for the International Food Festival on Thursday. If you can’t stay to help, please, don’t hesitate to send the food with your daughters! Also, encourage your daughters to dress up for Ancestral Dress Day on Wednesday. We encourage them to wear any kind of array of cultural dress, no matter how many cultural heritages they can name!
Thank you for your participation and support! Please click here to see important information about the week's schedule of Diversity Week events.

SOLIDARITY DAY NEED VOLUNTEERS & FOOD
If you think feeding one class is a challenge, get READY for the Annual Solidarity Day Lunch when we serve the ENTIRE student body! At this lunch we try to give the girls a tasting of foods from as many ethnic backgrounds as possible. We need many families to donate a homemade food item (donor forms set home on Fri, Jan. 18) that serves 10 to 20 portions and can be delivered to school on Thursday, Jan. 31. We also need 75 parents to help pull this feat off. If you are interested in volunteering, please e-mail Ann Laws at ferris104@aol.com.
REMINDER: If you are providing food for the luncheon, please bring it in a disposable aluminum tray or container, label the dish (what it is and country or origin) and inidicate if is to be served hot or cold.

Attention, Senior Parents -
Senior students received their most recent rank during homeroom on Thursday, January 24th.  Students will be ranked one more time after completing their eighth and final semester worth of work.  If your daughter was not in homeroom on Thursday, she may pick up her rank letter from Mrs. Willhelm in the counseling office.

Attention, Junior Parents -
We will be mailing the junior rank letters home sometime around Wednesday, February 6th.  This will be the first ranking for the juniors and the purpose is to give the students an idea of how they are doing in comparison to their classmates.  This ranking is not shared with colleges since students do not apply until the fall of their senior year and will have a new ranking a the end of this school year.  The ranking you will receive in the mail is based on a quintile system which differentiates students into 5 distinct groupings.  If you have any questions after you receive this information, please let your daughter’s counselor know.

We will also include a letter about our new web-based college resource, Naviance. We are excited about this program and will be sharing details with your daughter during their spring conferences.  Some of the tools included are College Search, College Match, College Compare, Acceptance History, Visit Schedule, Scholarship List, Scholarship Match, and Tracking Transcripts.  Look for more information about this wonderful tool in future Tiger Tracks.

Attention Sophomores, Juniors, and your families!
Please join us for the annual St. Agnes/Strake Jesuit College Information Night on Tuesday, February 5 from 7-9 p.m..  This is your chance to learn about the college admission and application process from experts in the field.  Representatives from Rice University, Southwestern University, Texas A&M, University of Texas at Austin, Texas Tech University, Trinity University, and University of Houston Honors College will be discussing a variety of topics related to admissions, programs of study, and financial aid. We will also have four student representatives from the senior class who will discuss their experience with the application process and answer any questions you may have about the college search/application process. Our program begins at 7 p.m. in the St. Agnes Auditorium. We look forward to seeing you there!
