Dominican Effectiveness Survey - Please respond by October 19
We are currently soliciting feedback from all of our constituencies regarding how well we are executing our mission as a Dominican school.  Please take a few minutes to complete this online survey.  The results are an important part of our self study required for school accreditation.  An overview of the results will be shared in a future issue of Tiger Tracks. Parent drivers needed for Service Day
Parents, we need you! Please sign up online today to help with St. Agnes Academy's annual Service Day on Wednesday, October 24. We need many, many drivers to take students to and from numerous service agencies around the city of Houston. Please make this all-school day of service a success! Click here to sign up as a driver and for more information.

Toiletry items needed for Service Day
Thank you to all who have so far contributed toiletries for the in-house service project. Collections of your travel-sized soaps, shampoos, conditioners, lotions etc. are ongoing. You may drop off the toiletries any time at the front office, but the major collection will be on every Friday morning through October 19 at the new Center for the Sciences and Student Services Center. May each of you be blessed for your donations.

Don’t forget about the Senior Gift Gathering Party this Saturday at the home of Tricia and Ed Britt! Please RSVP to Mary Louise Berry ( mlberry@st-agnes.org ) if you plan to attend!

Habitat for Humanity Build-a-thon: Come join the fun on October 26!
The SAA Habitat for Humanity Club (H4H) is gearing up for their first annual BUILD-A-THON being held on Friday, October 26th from 7:30 p.m.-midnight (Lock-in from 8 p.m. - 11 p.m.) at St. Agnes. SAA, SJ and STHS won’t want to miss this fun evening. KRBE will be the disc jockeys for the evening and are very excited about helping SAA Raise the Roof for Habitat! To begin to build the FIRST SAA HOUSE, the girls must raise $65,000. So the minimum entrance fee for the evening is $25. Inclusive in that entrance fee will be prizes, games, dancing , karaoke, movies, food, XBOX games, open gym and much more on the night. Those that raise $50 will also receive a H4H T-shirt. Girls raising $75 will receive a T-shirt and a flip-flop day pass, and those raising $100 will receive a T-shirt, flip-flop day pass and a sweatpants/pajama bottom day pass. Next week, be on the lookout for the grand prize! Information packets and permission slips will be handed out in homeroom this week! This is a school wide event that you won’t want to miss!

Baked goods requested for Open House

To purchase an ad in the 2008 edition of the SAA yearbook, Veritas. Space is limited so be sure to contact us early, we will be on a first come basis. ALL ARTWORK AND MONEY DUE 12/1/07.

Holy Week Trip to Spain - Space Available
The opportunity is still available for parents and students alike to travel to Spain - Madrid, Toledo, Sevilla, Cordoba, Granada, Malaga, Gibraltar with Mrs. Wische and Mrs. Clark for HOLY WEEK Mar.14-Mar. 24. Please have your daughter acquire a day by day itinerary via Mrs. Wische room 106. 

CLUB PINK THANKS YOU!
Club Pink hosted its annual Pink Week last week and it was a great success. Pink Week is a week dedicated to informing and creating breast cancer awareness. The club hosted several fundraising activities such as a pink-themed bake sale, sold 'Pink passes,' and sold t-shirts. At the end of the week, team SAA participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure at Sam Houston Park downtown. Over 100 people were present and helped support the cause. Club Pink wishes to thank everyone for participating in the race and contributing to the cause. We hope to see everyone there next year!

Carol Lester (carlester@comcast.net)  and Lauren Granberry (wmgran@prodigy.net ) and their Service Day team are busy organizing All-School Service Day, which will be held Wednesday, October 24.  Mark your calendars.  We need many, many volunteers (drivers) for this special event.  Be sure to register to work this event on-line.please check the website for the Service Day link.

If you would like to drive on Service Day, you MUST sign up ONLINE.    Please go to the St. Agnes website (www.st-agnes.org), then click on the "Service Day Drivers" link in the left hand menu. Drivers are assigned on a FIRST-COME, FIRST-SERVED basis, so if you wish to drive your own daughter's homeroom, you should act quickly. 

Also bring in your toiletry sample bottles from your hotel stays..we are collecting these items for donation. Drop off in the main office...

College Night for area high schools will be held at Strake Jesuit on Monday, October 29.  Cindy Olszewski is planning the dinner for the College Representatives.  If you would like to help serve the dinner that evening please email Cindy at cindyoski@aol.com
