Spectrum Wins FIRST in Texas Level's Gold Medal

Spectrum, a robotics team from St. Agnes Academy and Strake Jesuit College Preparatory, has been awarded the prestigious FIRST in Texas District Level Chairman’s Award for being an exemplary engineering team.  The award recognizes a team that reflects sustained excellence and impact within the FIRST community, in its own community, and beyond. Spectrum serves as role models and resources for other teams while educating the public in support of the FIRST mission.

“As a team, we have found a way to make the most of being home during the pandemic. We communicated daily to work on team-based challenges, curate our extensive online resources and documentation for the FRC international community, created a virtual OnShape course for kids, met with teams around the world on Zoom, launched a new virtual FRC training curriculum, started a developmental team, and had fun together.” said Allen Gregory IV, Spectrum Head Coach. “Team members have proven they are innovative, resilient, problem solvers, creative, and adaptable to the challenges that life brings their way.”
