Welcome New Faculty/Staff!

From the Principal:

Welcome new faculty and staff! I am excited to introduce the following new employees who will be joining the St. Agnes community.

Carol Bailey
College Counselor
Carol has been working as a counselor since 2007 across the parking lot at Strake Jesuit. Her daughter, Hannah, is a graduate of St. Agnes. Carol earned her masters of education in educational psychology from the University of Houston. Welcome, Carol!

Chelsea Bass '10
English and Media Arts
Chelsea was a basketball star here not too many years ago. She played for the University of Texas where she also earned her degree in Journalism. Chelsea has been working for the City of Houston as a communications specialist, and coaching basketball for us on a part-time basis. She now joins us full time to teach English 1 and media arts. Chelsea will also assist in the library and continue to coach basketball.

Lacey Castro
Part-Time Technical Theater
Lacey joins us in the newly created position of technical theater director.  This is a part-time positon assisting Jewell Handy with lighting, sound, stage management, etc.  Lacey will undoubtedly be a huge resource to us.  She has worked at Techland Houston, and has also been very involved in technical theater at Lonestar College Montgomery and San Jacinto South College. 

Jamie Colley '07
PE/Health
You already know Jamie - she joined the PE/Health department as a long term substitute last January and subsequently led our softball team to the state finals. Jamie is a graduate of John Carroll University where she studied sociology and communications. She played softball for John Carroll after having a successful softball career right here at St. Agnes Academy! After her marriage this summer, Jamie will have a new last name--Wissinger.    

Ann Marie Gerard
Director of Human Resources
Ann Marie begins this new position for us July 1. She recently relocated to Houston from New York and is excited to jump in and help in the area of employee relations, talent acquisition, performance management, employee benefits, and organization management. In her last position she was the vice president of human resources and administration at Screenvision Direct. Ann Marie earned her B.S. in marketing from the University of Scranton and also attended a Catholic high school.  

Kelly Griffin
Mathematics Teacher
Kelly is back for her second tour of duty at St. Agnes. She left in 2008 in order to stay at home with her two young children. Now she is back and ready to resume her duties in the math department. Kelly earned her B.A. in mathematics from Texas A&M University, and she has an M.A. in Teaching from Grand Canyon University.   
Natalee Lloyd
Mathematics Teacher
Natalee is a graduate of BYU, where she earned her BA in mathematics education. She has experience as a traditional classroom teacher, but has also worked as an education specialist developing curriculum based on NASA science and technology. We are excited to have Natalee join our high performing math department!  

Jennifer Peyton '06
PE/Health
Jennifer is another graduate of St. Agnes and we are thrilled to have her join the PE/Health department and be the head coach of our volleyball program. Jennifer was a volleyball standout when she was a student here. She went on to study and play volleyball for Southern Miss University and the University of Houston. She earned her B.S. in kinesiology from UH in 2011.  She has been teaching and coaching at Kinkaid for the past five years.

Jennifer Thies Velasquez '00
Part-Time Spanish 
Jennifer took a break to be with her growing family, but now she is ready to ease back into life at St. Agnes. She will be teaching two sections of Spanish. Laura Brasher has scaled back after the birth of her daughter last spring and she will be teaching 2 or 3 sections of Spanish as well.   
 
We are all looking forward to a fantastic 2016-2017 school year!
