  • Black Box Musical

The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee
*Winner of the Tony and the Drama Desk Awards for Best Book**

Featuring a fast-paced, wildly funny and touching book by Rachel Sheinkin and a truly fresh and vibrant score by William Finn, this bee is one unforgettable experience.
An eclectic group of six mid-pubescents vie for the spelling championship of a lifetime. While candidly disclosing hilarious and touching stories from their home lives, the tweens spell their way through a series of (potentially made-up) words, hoping never to hear the soul-crushing, pout-inducing, life un-affirming "ding" of the bell that signals a spelling mistake.
Six spellers enter; one speller leaves! At least the losers get juice box….

Our campus is undergoing a transformation which will deeply impact our performing arts programs. The construction of our new Sr. Jane Meyer, O.P. Assembly and Performance Hall, named for an alum, by an alum, will benefit each student on our campus. With this 1,300 seat multi-purpose venue, all can comfortably participate in the rich traditions of becoming Academy women, along with their family and friends. Our approximately 300-seat Maureen O'Gara Hackett Balcony will double as a critical meeting space for students, faculty/staff, and parents.

The Jamieson Family Dance Studio will be a multi-functional, rehearsal space for our thriving dance and growing wellness programs, offering much-needed space to serve all departments of the school. Our dance teams have continued to grow and take top awards around the country. With this new studio, our current space will transform into a fulltime health and wellness studio to accommodate our growing wellness program including yoga and Zumba. These two courses, also searching for a dedicated practice venue, will flourish in a this re-purposed space.
