  • The Jazz Ensemble

The Jazz Ensemble is made up of Strake Jesuit and St. Agnes Students. The Jazz Ensemble is made up of saxophones, trombones, trumpets, piano, electric guitar, bass, and drums. The Jazz Ensemble rehearses Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:15 - 4 p.m. in the band hall and is a registered course where 0.25 fine arts credit is received per semester, attendance is taken, and grades are received. Students interested in auditioning should plan to attend all rehearsals. Auditions for Jazz Ensemble are held after school begins. Students who make the Jazz Ensemble will be registered for the course. Please contact the Band Director Ben Ware for more information.
  • Band

The Band is made up of Strake Jesuit and St. Agnes Students and is over 100 members strong! The band has two main functions: to serve as a pep band during football season and to serve as a concert band(s) during the remainder of the school year. During the fall semester, after football season, all band members will be in one large symphonic band. During the spring semester, we split the band into two ensembles – Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble. We do not have a marching band, but rather a pep band that performs in the stands during football games and on the field during halftime, by playing while standing still. The band rehearses Monday through Friday from 7 - 7:45 a.m. and is a registered course where a 0.5 fine arts credit is received per semester, attendance is taken, and grades are received. Auditions for the band will be held one week before school begins and also during the first week of school. Please contact the Band Director Sean Burke for more information.
