St. Agnes Academy
What makes affordable Catholic schools in high school? Find out about our resources for financial aid to support your daughter’s educational journey.
Many families exploring affordable Catholic schools in Houston worry that tuition will limit their options. The truth is that Catholic education is often more accessible than people realize.

At St. Agnes Academy, we’re committed to making a high-quality Catholic education available to students from a wide range of financial backgrounds.

Find out how our need-based financial aid program opens the door for families seeking excellence, community, and mission-driven learning for their daughters.

Catholic Education is More Accessible than Many Families Expect

Across the country, Catholic schools work hard to remain accessible. For example, the Diocese of Pittsburgh notes that tuition for almost all Catholic school students is significantly lower than the actual cost of education, thanks to parish support and scholarships. They also report that about 25% of students receive additional financial aid, helping reduce families' financial burden.

National resources confirm the same trend: the Discover Catholic Schools initiative encourages families to talk directly with schools because many parents are surprised to learn they qualify for assistance – even if they assumed they wouldn’t. It’s a reminder that Catholic education is intentionally structured to be “accessible, affordable, and available” to those who seek it.

These national insights align closely with our mission at St. Agnes Academy.

Our Commitment to Affordable Catholic Schools at St. Agnes

At St. Agnes, our goal is clear: no student should be discouraged from applying because of financial need.

For the 2025–2026 school year, approximately 20% of students received nearly $2,950,000 in financial aid, helping families manage the cost of tuition.

Aid covers both tuition and the required freshman laptop purchase. While full-tuition awards are uncommon – we believe all families should participate as they are able – partial awards significantly reduce costs for many.

Other Catholic schools around the country highlight similar strategies. Many families share online that Catholic high schools are often more affordable than non-religious private schools due to mission-driven financial models and longstanding community support.

Additionally, Catholic systems like the Archdiocese of Philadelphia emphasize that financial aid systems and scholarship partners keep Catholic education within reach, even for middle-income families who might not expect to qualify.

Our Simple and Supportive Financial Aid Process

Families applying to St. Agnes Academy complete their financial aid application through Blackbaud Financial Aid Management (school code 14060) by January 15th. A single application per household is required unless parents are separated or divorced.

Awards are granted for one year, with renewal available when financial need continues and students meet academic and citizenship expectations.

Our processes mirror best practices across the country. Denver Catholic Schools, for example, emphasize that financial aid reviews are confidential, mission-driven, and aimed at helping families plan confidently and sustainably.

Choosing a Catholic School Is an Investment in Your Daughter’s Future

Catholic education shapes the whole student – mind, heart, and character. Schools nationwide report that families are drawn to Catholic education for its strong academics, community, faith formation, and long-term outcomes.

At St. Agnes, we see financial aid as an essential part of opening these opportunities to more young women. If you’re exploring affordable Catholic schools in Houston, we invite you to learn more about our programs, schedule a campus visit, or speak with our Admissions team.
