Your Options for St. Agnes Winter Sports
Basketball
Basketball is a fast-paced, dynamic sport that requires agility, strategy, and teamwork.
Joining a high school basketball team is a great way to improve your cardiovascular health, enhance your coordination, and build strong bonds with your teammates.
Whether you're a sharpshooter, a tough rebounder, or a defensive powerhouse, there's a place for you on the court. We offer three teams to suit your skills and experience: freshman, junior varsity, and senior.
Soccer
Soccer is known for its incredible blend of endurance, skill, and teamwork. As a member of the soccer team, you will develop technical abilities, tactical understanding, and physical fitness.
The sport fosters a strong sense of camaraderie as you work together to achieve common goals on the field against other squads from across Houston. We offer three different teams to match your skill level, including JV Black, JV Gold, and Varsity.

Swimming
Swimming offers a unique combination of individual challenge and team spirit. It is an excellent full-body workout that improves strength, endurance, and discipline.
The swim team provides a supportive environment where you can push your limits, set personal records, and contribute to the team's success in the pool. For swimming, we offer two different teams: Junior Varsity and Varsity.

What to Expect When You Join a Sports Team
Before trying out for one of our winter sports, it’s important to understand the commitment involved.
Winter sports at St. Agnes conduct mandatory practices up to six days per week during the season, typically including three practices and two competitions weekly. Most practices run 90 minutes to two hours and are scheduled before or after school to accommodate your academic commitments.
All student-athletes are required to have an annual athletic physical and pay a $150 athletic fee per sport. Superstar athletes who participate in more than two sports may be entitled to receive an exemption from the third fee.
