How We’re Celebrating Emotional Wellness Month 2025

This year, our school theme is “Look Up,” which is a reminder for students to stay engaged in the world around you and to focus on your personal health to develop a positive mindset.

Throughout the spring semester, Emotional Wellness Month will include special programming and events that tie into our theme for the year, such as:
  • Wellness workshops on topics like anxiety management, healthy relationships, and body acceptance.
  • Self-Care Fair where students can explore mindfulness techniques, calming activities, and stress-relief booths to promote balance.
  • Parent-focused Lunch & Learn sessions to help families understand adolescent mental health and how to support their daughters’ well-being at home.
These special events are an extension of our ongoing efforts to provide students with the tools they need to navigate life's challenges with joy – not anxiousness.

A Holistic Approach to Wellness

Our Student Support Services includes both the Wellness Center and the Student Success Center, which are designed to provide comprehensive, inclusive support that keeps equity at the center of everything we do.
We partner with students, parents, and community members to build sustainable relationships that support academic success, personal growth, and resilience. This effort is integral to creating a healthy community culture.

From stress management to transitions, the Wellness Center helps students navigate the challenges that come with high school – everything from academic stress to relationship issues or self-esteem concerns. Students learn techniques in stress reduction, building healthy relationships, and replacing negative self-talk with positive affirmations.

Supporting Students Through Transitions

Freshmen, in particular, are supported through a dedicated Freshman Seminar course that helps them transition smoothly from middle school to high school.

The course develops academic readiness, organizational and study skills, social-emotional awareness, and strategies for resilience. Students are assigned to counselors who accompany them into their sophomore year, ensuring continuity and care.

- Students and families can learn more about these transition supports and resources through our Student Support Services page.

Academic & Executive Support for All Students

Another area of emphasis is supporting students with learning differences to support their emotional well-being.

We provide all students with access to study plans, executive functioning coaching, organizational tools, and time-management strategies that fit their specific needs. Our specialists collaborate with teachers and counselors to align support with coursework and accommodate individual learning needs.
Students with documented learning differences can request accommodations such as extended time, preferential seating, note-taking assistance, test modifications, the use of a calculator, or testing in a quiet center.

- Because of the structured process, students seeking accommodations for fall final exams must complete documentation by December 1, 2025, and for spring semester finals by May 1, 2026.

Committed to Your Whole Self

At St. Agnes Academy, we value the whole student – mind, body, and spirit. Our team is committed to creating a safe, confidential, and nonjudgmental environment where students can seek help, build resilience, and grow emotionally as well as academically.

Emotional Wellness Month 2025 is a time to spotlight programs dedicated to supporting your well-being. However, our commitment to your emotional health extends far beyond this month – we’re here to champion your growth and wellness all year long.
